Get a New Smile on Time With Veneers this Christmas

A veneer is a thin shell of porcelain or resin that is bonded to the surface of the tooth to cover up flaws such as chipped or broken teeth, misshapen teeth, and crookedness. Veneers are customized for each patient to ensure that the color and shape are perfectly matched to the rest of the smile.

Veneers are incredibly durable, stain-resistant, and natural-looking. They can give patients a beautiful smile in just a matter of weeks! You can get a brand new smile in time for the holidays with veneers in as little as two visits to your dentist’s office.

How Are Veneers Made?

Dental veneers are thin shells of tooth-colored porcelain that are bonded to the front surface of your teeth to hide flaws and improve the look of your smile. The veneers are created in a lab, using a mold of your mouth to ensure a comfortable fit and natural look. A small amount of enamel is removed from each tooth before they are prepped for the veneers. This ensures the veneers won’t stand out against the rest of your teeth. Once the teeth have been prepared, the dentist will take an impression that is sent to a dental lab where the veneers will be crafted by hand. When it’s ready, you’ll come in for a second appointment so your dentist can bond the veneers to your teeth. In order to ensure they stay in place, a special resin material is placed between the veneers and your tooth to create a strong and secure bond. Once in place, your veneers will give you a beautiful new smile that will last for several years with proper care.

How Do I Care For My Veneers?

Caring for your veneers is very similar to caring for your natural teeth. You should brush and floss your teeth at least twice daily and maintain your regular oral health regimen. This includes visiting the dentist for routine appointments every six to 12 months. During your appointments, we will check your veneers’ fit and condition to make sure they are in optimal shape. We also will examine your teeth and gums to ensure that there are no potential problems with your bite or gums.

If you experience any discomfort from your veneers, we recommend sticking to soft foods until your symptoms subside. If you are experiencing pain or sensitivity that does not go away after a day or two, please contact us to set up an appointment right away. We want to make sure your smile stays healthy and beautiful.
